AJ RICKETTS BIO

My name is Anthony (AJ) Ricketts. I'm a Jamaican soccer player with a deep passion for athletic expression. I immigrated to the states with my family in an effort to create a more joyful life.

I've since experienced a plethora of emotions, Some serving as motivation while others blinding me, preventing me from creating the joy I know I could experience. Throughout all the turmoil of travel, making friends, and cultural shock one thing remained prevalent:

My desire to be a part of a team. To have mates that care for you, to serve pillars of stability in my otherwise ever-changing world.

Soccer has been the driving force behind multiple life decisions for me. The good group of boys, teammates, club supporters, and coaching staff I met helped mold me into the person I am today.

the Nantucket community paved the road less travel for my family. The community helped me secure capital for my college education and also helped prepare me mentally for college athletics. it helped me focus on having a strong mind in the face of adversity, to know its ok to lean on your teammates for support, to learn to trust myself, and to lead when called upon & to follow when appropriate.

Most importantly, my youth soccer experience taught me how to cultivate joy in whatever I do and if I can, pay it forward.
