MICHAEL DAY BIO
Michael is Vice President of Francis O. Day Company, a fourth generation family business serving the Washington DC Metropolitan area. F.O. Day is a full service heavy highway and site work contractor as well as developer and home builder.
F.O. Day is one of the largest asphalt producers in Maryland, and by extension, one of the largest recyclers in the state. Through innovation and strategic partnerships, F.O. Day recycles an estimated 250,000-300,000 tons of materials annually at their asphalt manufacturing facilities.
A lifelong resident of the Washington area, Michael graduated from the Landon School in Bethesda, MD in 1994. He then attended Loyola College (now University) to continue his lacrosse career and earn a Bachelor degree in Business Management in 1998 & a Master of Business Administration in 2002.
Michael has served as a Trustee on the Landon Board and was President of the Maryland Asphalt Association. he currently serves as a Board member of the Maryland Asphalt Association, The Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association, and the Landon School Alumni Association.
Michael credits athletics and great coaches for much of his success. Many of the experiences & lessons he learned as a three year starter, team captain, and honorable mention all american for a division 1 final four team have helped shape how he currently manages his day-to-day tasks, manages internal and external teams, problem solves, and handles life’s ups and downs.
He is thankful to have grown up in an area where access to youth athletics was plentiful and is now committed to give back in areas where it is not.
